The wait is almost over, as in a couple of hours time Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town kick off the new football league season, in front of the Sky Sports cameras. Today will mark my final part of my season preview, as in part four I will be giving my opinions on Millwall, Nottingham Forest, Peterborough United, Sheffield Wednesday, Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers…
Millwall
After participating in two consecutive seasons in the Npower Championship, it now seems that Millwall are an established Npower Championship outfit. After returning to the second tier in 2010/2011, …

I now move onto part three of my four part preview for the forthcoming Npower Championship season. In this feature I will turn my attentions to another six teams, including my very own Leicester City. So in part three im going to talk about the chances of Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Ipswich Town, Leeds United, Leicester City and Middlesbrough…
Huddersfield Town
After years of grueling work, Huddersfield Town finally found themselves promoted back to the second tier of English football, after a penalty shootout play-off win against Sheffield United. Huddersfield have been …

Yesterday was my first of four parts of an Npower Championship preview for the season ahead, as I featured Barnsley, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion. Today I turn my attentions to another six teams, these being Bristol City, Burnley, Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, Derby County and newly promoted Charlton Athletic, can any of these six teams mount a serious promotion challenge this season…
Bristol City
Last season yet again proved that Bristol City are slowly on the decline as an Npower Championship side. The 2011/2012 …

It’s that time of the year again, the football league season is fast approaching, and I for one is more excited than ever before. The Npower Championship is always a challenging and enthralling division, but this season could well be the most exciting yet. Around sixteen teams are capable of promotion, including the newly promoted trio of Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday. Every year I usually rack up a season preview of all of Leicester City’s 23 opponents for the season ahead, but this time around I have …

Leicester City have today completed the signing of 20 year old French Winger Anthony Knockaert, from Ligue 2 side Guingamp.
The news of this unexpected signing filtered through this morning, as many French media outlets stated that Leicester City had completed the signing of the highly rated Knockaert. Early this afternoon Guingamp officially confirmed the move on their official website, as well as the player himself on his official facebook page. Knockaert is Nigel Pearson’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
The 20 year old had previously been linked with big …

Leicester City could well secure a double swoop within the next week, as reports state that Nigel Pearson could well end his interest in Hull City defender James Chester, and turn to Sheffield United centre back Harry Maguire instead, as well as continuing his interest in Hull City midfielder Robert Koren. Reports state that Maguire is firmly on the Foxes radar, and a bid could well be submitted for the highly rated 19 year old in the next couple of days. Pearson spoke openly of his intentions to bring in …

It has been suggested for weeks that, Leicester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson is keen on bringing a new striker to the King Power Stadium, and reports in the media are speculating that the Swede could well be closing in on his top targets. After missing out on Shane Long and with a possible move for Nicky Maynard buried under the hatchet, Leicester City have now been linked with many other possible moves which could well transpire in the next couple of weeks.
So far this summer Sven Goran Eriksson has strengthened his …

I have now completed my 2011/2012 Npower Championship previews, and what better way to finish than previewing one of the most well known clubs in England, West Ham United. Troubled times have been brewing around Upton Park recently, as unrest in the back room, unfortunate results and worst of all the raft of relegation all spewed out of control in one season. Sam Allardyce though has been appointed Hammers boss for the 2011/2012 campaign, can he salvage West Ham’s fortunes and secure promotion at the first attempt…
West Ham Preview
After a …

I have almost finished my batch of Npower Championship previews, in this feature it’s Watford who I will be concentrating on this time around. It will be a whole new feel at Vicarage Road this season, as star players such as Danny Graham, Will Buckley and Don Cowie have headed for pastures new, while even manager Malky Mackay jumped ship to Cardiff City. Sean Dyche has been left in charge of the golden boys at this moment in time, can the new manager of Watford produce the stability which Malky …

Welcome to yet another Npower Championship preview right here on footballblog.co.uk, this time around I set my focus on Reading. Reading managed to secure a play-off place last season, and by winning one of two play-off semi finals they went onto meet Swansea City at Wembley. The match was full of high drama; however Brian McDermott’s side just fell short on promotion despite an emphatic performance. After last season’s heroics can Reading mount another promotion challenge in 2011/2012…
Reading Preview
Reading last season seemed like a brand new refurbished side, as they …
